Hi! I’m Dee aka elegia. I use she/her pronouns. I’m a Scottish self-taught photographer and mixed media artist. I’m based in Glasgow.

I grew up in a wee seaside town in North Ayrshire. In my late teens and early twenties, I went on to study various creative practices such as Fine Art, poetry and creative writing. Eventually finding my way back to all things artistic when I fell into modelling in 2011-ish. I work with analog and mixed media. My work is very much inspired by my working class background, namely the architecture, cinema and music that has been made by those of us who grew up in these towns and neighbourhoods. I also have AuDHD (ADHD & autism), OCD and dyspraxia, which understandably greatly influence my work too. I've created many self-portrait projects exploring my experience of living with these.

I’ve been lucky to have had my work published and exhibited internationally. The experience of seeing and feeling my images in print or hung up on a wall is one of my primary motivations. I think it’s really important to print your work and creating with tangible imagery is what really drives me. There’s just nothing else quite like it.
